What Unstop SEO accesses
If you sign in with Google, Unstop SEO requests read-only access to Google Search Console (scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly). It reads the list of properties you can access and search performance data (queries, pages, dates, hours, devices, countries, clicks, impressions, CTR and position) for Search, Discover and Google News, for the property and dates you choose. When you ask for it on the Indexing screen, it also reads your submitted sitemaps and runs read-only URL inspections for the pages you choose. Unstop SEO never writes to Search Console: it cannot submit sitemaps, request indexing or change any setting.
How the data is used
Data is requested directly from Google by your browser and analysed in your browser to produce the reports you see. It is not sent to or stored on Unstop SEO servers. So that a page reload continues where you were, the access token (valid for up to an hour) and the property, dates and folder you chose are kept in this browser tab's session storage; they are deleted when you close the tab or start a new analysis, and the search data itself is fetched again from Google.
Search data fetched from Google (queries, pages, clicks and impressions) is never stored: it lives in the open tab and is fetched again after a reload. Only the settings you choose are kept, in your browser's local storage and for each site separately: brand names, searches to ignore, pages to leave out or always include, saved goals and workflows, and a history of when each saved goal ran (date, status and number of results; no search data). The Action board keeps the tasks you create (title, page, owner name you type, due date, status, what was changed and when, the baseline numbers captured when the task was created, and the final before/after verdict once measured), and Priorities keeps the scoring weights, priority sections, terms and growth target you set. The fix tracker keeps the pages, dates and notes you enter; its before-and-after results are worked out each time from the data you load and are not stored. The branded report keeps the agency name, contact line, colour and logo you enter (once, for all clients) and each client's name, logo and notes (per site); logos are redrawn as small PNG images and never leave your browser. Use Settings › Forget this site to delete a site's settings, fixes and client branding (agency branding stays for your other clients), or clear this site's data in your browser to delete everything.
Optional hourly archive
Search Console keeps hourly data for about 10 days. On Statistics & Trends › Best day & time you can switch on an archive that keeps final hourly totals for the site (clicks, impressions and average position per hour; no searches or pages) in this browser, so hour-of-day patterns can build up over time. It is off by default, stays on your device, is never sent anywhere, and can be deleted there or with “Forget this site”.
Exports and backups
When you upload an export, its parsed numbers are kept in the same tab's session storage so a reload can continue; they are deleted when the tab closes or you start a new analysis.
Exports of the Page indexing, Discover or Google News reports that you drop into Unstop SEO are read in your browser and kept in memory for that tab only. A task backup you download is a file on your device; Unstop SEO keeps no copy. Use “Forget this site” in Settings to delete everything stored in this browser for a site.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Unstop SEO's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or allow humans to read it.
Revoking access
You can remove Unstop SEO's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Uploaded files
Files you upload are read in your browser and never transmitted. A crawler export (links, or page titles and descriptions) uploaded under Content & links is kept in memory in that tab only, until you reload the page or remove it, and is never stored or sent anywhere. On large sites the analysis runs partly in a background thread of the same browser tab; nothing leaves your browser.
